Baseggio were requested by the Buffalo Grove Police Department to aid in the search for a missing child. The two responded just before midnight and integrated into a large scale search operation that took place throughout the night. Fortunately, there was a happy ending to this call, as the child was found a few hours into the search.
West Chicago K9, drones, and chiefs are members of the K9/Drone Search and Rescue Strike Team. The team is made up of fire departments access northern Illinois that respond to aid local agencies in finding missing people. K9 Thor and Lt. Baseggio are also a part of MABAS-IllinoisTask Force 1 disaster response team which responds to disaster struck areas across the county.
